
Support and Recreation Services
Provides an early intervention program to manage distress, build coping strategies for healthy community living, and reduce the need for hospitalization.
Service offers:
- assistance with counselling, and support services
- referrals to community services
- group therapy sessions
- psychoeducational programs, including Mindfulness, Relaxation Group, and Rewired:
- Mindfulness is a weekly program to help manage symptoms and build coping skills
- Relaxation Group is a weekly restorative yoga practice which includes targeted poses to assist with relaxation, deep breathing and meditation
- Rewired Program teaches basics of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) principles to help manage depression and/or anxiety. Trained staff will help apply a practical approach throughout the program. Course runs for 10 weeks.
