Provides testing to check how well a client’s heart works under increased physical stress.
Clients are attached to a heart monitor while they walk on a treadmill. This test can help detect early symptoms of some forms of heart disease such as angina.
If clients are unable to walk because of leg problems, they are given a drug to stress their heart. A different drug, and a scan taken after the exercise, can be used to see if all parts of the heart get equal amounts of blood when it's stressed.
