The program provides rehabilitation services for school-aged children and youth who have had a recent significant change in their physical functioning due to an injury, illness or surgery, and requires intensive rehabilitation to return to their community school.
The program:
- assists the child / youth with transition back into the community and community school
- includes on-site classrooms to allow children/youth to continue with their education, as part of their rehabilitation process
- has a strong parent education focus
- involves parents in planning their child / youth's treatment
This program also can include consultation with orthotics service and seating service if appropriate.
