Provides multidisciplinary specialty care for children and adolescents with tracheostomies or other complex airway needs (i.e. dependent on non-invasive ventilation or other airway appliances for > 18 hours a day) including:
- care and management of the child’s tracheostomy, including pre-tracheostomy consultation and decision-making support
- care and management of any underlying respiratory condition(s)
- support for the child’s ongoing growth & development
- support for families caring for a child with complex airway needs
Support provided in collaboration with local home care, community & school based teams where available.
