This central access referral service provides a single point of entry for atrial fibrillation patients in the Calgary Zone.
Most patients with atrial fibrillation can be managed by their family physician or a general cardiologist. This cardiac clinic is focused on the management of:
- patients with complex care decisions regarding medications used to control or treat atrial fibrillation and / or atrial flutter
- patients who may need procedures to manage or treat their atrial fibrillation and / or atrial flutter (for example, an ablation procedure and / or pacemaker)
- patients who have recurrent atrial fibrillation and / or atrial flutter at a younger age (typically, under 50 years old)
