We provide multidisciplinary support for building skills for functional independence for youth with physical disabilities.
This service is available to youth who are registered to a Neurosciences program / clinic at Alberta Children's Hospital. We aim to support youth (12-18 years old) with physical disabilities with the goal to reduce difficulties transitioning to adult medical services and roles. Examples of common goals we work on include:
- living independently
- obtaining competitive employment
- understanding their medical conditions
- options for driving and other modes of community transportation
At this time we do not have resources to support those who will be eligible for PDD as an adult (IQ<70).
