Offers a non-residential, managed alcohol program operated through an off-site location.
Service offers:
- non-residential managed alcohol support to people who are consuming non-beverage alcohol (hand sanitizer, rubbing alcohol, and more); also assists people who are drinking beverage alcohol and feel it’s problematic for them, particularly if their drinking leads to interactions with emergency services such as police and / or paramedics, impacts their physical and / or mental health, or prevents or jeopardizes housing
Includes:
- 2 litres of wine every day (this amount can vary from person to person depending on their consumption pattern); members produce the wine and care for the space
- wrap around case management support
- support accessing other services in the community
- assistance with income, identification, housing, medical, mental health, court, family reunification, and more
- a variety of on-site programs available such as counselling, peer meetings, and activities from the Edmonton Public Library
- an expectation that if able, the community member attends the space daily to participate in brewing and other programming as it is scheduled
Daily drop-ins of members are encouraged. Days that members do not attend or pick up wine, they receive a credit that will be applied to their next month. Members can consume their wine in the space or can pick up wine twice daily.
