Service offers:
Register as a Victim to receive information about the offender who harmed you:
- you are asked to register with the Correctional Service of Canada or the Parole Board of Canada (PBC)
- the registration process allows us to confirm that you meet the definition of victim, which is required under the law before we can share certain information with you about an offender
- option to choose someone to act as your representative and receive information on your behalf if you would prefer not to receive it directly
Victim Statements
- Provide Victim Statements that CSC and PBC will consider when making recommendations and decisions about the offender. These statements can:
- describe the ongoing impact the offence has on your life
- share your safety concerns
- ask that the offender not have contact with you or your family
- tell us that the offender's location matters to you
- ask that the offender not travel or be released to the areas where you and your family live and work
- Submit Victim Statements at any time.
Victim’s Portal
- a simple, secure way to send and receive information online
- allows victims and/or their named representatives to access information they are entitled to
Making a Complaint
- if rights under the Canadian Victim Bill of Rights have been infringed, violated or denied, individuals can make a complaint
