Offers weekly home visitation services and supports for parents / caregivers.
Service provides:
- weekly home visitation services, access to basic needs, supports and resources, family life skills, health and resilience, healthy family and social connections, parenting and caregiver skills, and child development, and behavioural improvement
Program objectives:
- to reduce risk factors and increase protective factors to reduce child abuse and neglect
- optimal child development and healthy family functioning
- improvement of program best practices and participate in Alberta Home Visitation Network Association (AHVNA), Pilot-Developmental Parenting (DP), Parenting Interactions with Children: Checklist of Observations Linked to Outcomes (PICCOLO), Home Visit Rating Scales (HOVRS), Alberta Family Violence Protocol Strategy, and Triple P Parenting
- provide culturally appropriate services to support cultural beliefs and heritage
Client outcomes:
- children use pro-social behaviours to communicate and to get their needs met
- participants manage child behaviour in a nurturing and effective manner
- participants manage family life to promote self-sufficiency, safety, and stability
