Offers programs for children and youth that address the unique learning needs of each learner to build their confidence in literacy and numeracy.
Services offers:
- Homework Club (in person / online), Reading Circle (in person / online), and Online 1-on-1 Tutoring
Homework Club includes:
- 1-on-1 in-person or virtual homework support once or twice a week with a trained tutor for junior high students struggling to keep up with homework, exams, and online assignments
- a focus on individual strengths, knowledge, and experiences, with the aim of providing learning support and building self-esteem for learners
- group activities and short skills workshops on topics such as time management, studying hacks, and different learning techniques to use in their studies
Reading Circle includes:
- 1-on-1 and group reading program for elementary learners
- learners are paired with a trained literacy volunteer for 1 hour each week to work on literacy-based activities including paired reading, storytelling, and games; weekly attendance is required
- opportunities to interact in group games and writing activities between learners and volunteers
Online 1-on-1 Tutoring includes:
- 1-on-1 or small group tutoring to focus on individual learner’s strengths, knowledge, and experiences, with the aim of providing learning support for and building self-esteem in young learners
- tutoring for any subject area based of tutor availability
- flexible hours (sessions based on the availability of tutors and learners)
- takes place on Google Meet during the school year
