The Geriatric Cognitive Neurology Clinic assesses older adults with a mental decline.
This clinic also sees people who show signs of mental decline starting in adulthood, who have signs that are not typical for Alzheimer’s disease, and those that involve the nervous system with symptoms getting worse over time, such as:
- Alzheimer's Disease (type of dementia that affects memory, thinking and behaviour), or
- Vascular Dementia (caused by reduced blood flow to the brain resulting in problems with thinking, memory and reasoning), or
- Parkinson’s Disease (affects movement and causes tremors, stiffness, slow movement and problems with balance and coordination).
