Provides specialized information, education, and support to past or recent survivors of sexual assault and their families as they navigate the legal system.
Service offers:
- answering questions about police / court processes and options in reporting the assault
- accompanying clients to the police and crown prosecutor
- discussing concerns about going to court
- accompanying clients to court and offering support
- assistance writing a Victim Impact Statement and Victim Compensation forms
- providing post court follow up
- providing appropriate information and referrals (restitution benefits, Victims of Crime Financial Benefits)
