The Cardio-Oncology Clinic is a consultative service for adult patients who are currently under the care of an oncologist or hematologist who may be experiencing or at risk of developing cardiac issues as a result of cancer treatment.
This clinic may perform the following services:
- cardiac surveillance of patients during treatment and for 5 years after the conclusion of anthracycline chemotherapy treatment
- management of Oncology patients with concerning cardiac symptoms during or post chemotherapy treatment
- consultation for cardiac clearance for patients requiring cancer treatment
- management of patients treated with tryosine kinase inhibitors or monoclonal antibodies for cancer
