English Testing and Referral
Provides free English language skill testing in four areas: listening, speaking, reading and writing and uses the results to refer to the most appropriate language school.
Service offers:
- language and vocational assessment of English proficiency and first language literacy for Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) eligibility determination
- information and referral to LINC and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, with free options available
- paid options for individuals who are not permanent residents
- one-on-one assistance from a counsellor to establish educational goals and receive directions to upgrading programs
