Distributes food hampers to geographically isolated, low income communities where residents experience chronic hunger and food insecurity.
Service offers:
- monthly food hampers to individuals and families with low income living in rural communities within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, who have little or no access to transportation and / or where there might be no full-service grocery stores within reasonable distance
Includes:
- volunteers sorting food, assembling boxes, and delivering hampers to designated community sites
- pre-packaged hampers containing 30 days worth of food that may be varied based on special diets, availability of products, and the time of year
May be able to tailor food hampers to meet cultural and dietary needs, upon request.
