A day treatment program for adolescents, ages 13-18, who are dealing with mental health and/or substance use issues. The Calgary Board of Education provides on-site classroom instruction.
The Adolescent Day Treatment Program (ADTP) is a specialized mental health and addiction day treatment program that operates from a family-centred perspective. ADTP is comprehensive, voluntary, and change-oriented. Adolescents attend a daily programconsisting of therapeutic groups, individual and family therapy, and classroom instruction. Programming is customized according to each youth's individual needs, goals, and readiness for change. Parents / caregivers are expected to attend regular family therapy sessions and evening education sessions. Treatment reviews and discharge planning meetings that include the family, AHS staff, CBE staff, and community partners are a part of the treatment program to ensure coordination of care and seamless transitions.
