2020-03-20: Due to the COVID-19 crisis, AHS Archives is currently closed to walk-in public access. Only essential visits will be granted in-person access to the collections at this time. Researchers can still contact Archives staff by phone or email and we will do our best to respond and support requirements in a timely manner. AHS Archives can be reached by email.
The archives reserves documents, images, and artifacts, and its document collections are organized by the institution or function that created the records. The collections contain over 3000 medical artifacts, upwards of 10,000 rare and historic photographs, and hundreds of historic documents, ledgers, notebooks, and personal correspondence related to nursing and medical practice in Alberta.
A portion of the Archives holdings are maintained in offsite storage. Please contact the Archivist / Curator prior to your visit to ensure Archivist/Curator attendance and availability of materials.
Fees may apply for record retrieval and copying, and for Nursing Transcipts.
