Promotes the prevention and reporting of abuse of adult clients who receive publicly funded care or support services.
Service offers:
- promotion of prevention and response to reports of abuse of adult Albertans receiving care or support services from publicly funded service providers
- publicly posted decision summaries on the Government of Alberta website (individually-identifiable health and other personal information are not included)
Service providers include:
- hospitals
- seniors' lodges
- nursing homes
- mental health facilities
- shelters
- group homes
- addictions treatment centres
- some settings funded by the Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) program
- and other supportive living settings
Service providers not included:
- home care in private homes
- family managed services under PDD
- family members not paid by government
- student housing
- doctor offices
- community clinics
