Improves health by talking to people in different communities about how Alberta Health Services can provide high-quality healthcare for Albertans.
Enhances and develops partnerships between communities and Alberta Health Services (AHS). Each council is geographically-based with 10 to 15 volunteer members that are committed to their communities and the healthcare system.
Health Advisory Council members:
- give feedback about what is working well in the healthcare system and suggest areas to improve
- talk to people in communities about what is being said about healthcare services in their area
- think about quality and safety reports from AHS and find issues or trends in certain areas
- give feedback to AHS about healthcare services and delivery
