Service offers:

• a range of supports for youth including service navigation and referrals, pre-employment workshops, life-skills workshops, access to high school education, and employment readiness training
• preparation for future opportunities and challenges

Employment readiness training includes:

• on-the-job training over 17 weeks in a real-world cafe and catering environment; although the cafe operates as a working restaurant, the importance of training and supporting youth is always the paramount goal
• opportunity to develop an array of employability and life skills that will help prepare them to transition to adulthood
• hands-on learning opportunities, including using equipment such as a pizza oven, espresso machine, and point-of-sale systems
• development of teamwork, communications, time and resource management, and customer service skills that transfer across industries
• earning minimum wage allowing participants to begin exploring important financial literacy concepts
