Physiotherapy services for complex pediatric conditions.
Services are provided through both AHS' Pediatric Community Rehabilitation and private clinics contracted by Alberta Health Services. Offers treatment and teaching to help decrease pain, increase strength and flexibility, and manage daily activities.
Your child is eligible for ambulatory community physiotherapy (ACPT) funding if your child:
- is under 1 year with torticollis
- has a chronic health problem (e.g., cerebral palsy with a treatment for spasticity like botox)
- has problems with gross motor skills or coordination
- has a chronic health problem and needs ongoing group exercise class
To be eligible for ambulatory community physiotherapy (ACPT) funding, your child must:
- have a current Alberta Health Care card
- have limitations, which can be modified with physiotherapy treatment, affect daily life and ability to do things, or need physiotherapy to improve (with or without a caregiver)
You are not eligible for ACPT funding if your child:
- is receiving physiotherapy through another AHS-funded program
