Provides a bridge for individuals to connect with the community in ways that are meaningful, empowering, and support independence.
Service offers:
- a bridge for individuals to connect with the community in ways that are meaningful, empowering, and support independence
- assistance with medical, social, legal, housing, fitness, nutrition, and crisis intervention support
- assistance in four categories including REDIconnects, Community Access for People in Continuing Care (CAPCC), Cross Disability Support Services, and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) programs
REDIconnects includes:
- services that promote an individual's inclusion in community activities and personal development
- respite support either inside or outside the individual's
- support for individual needs such as medication, hygiene, grocery shopping, or budgeting
- assistance to be independent in the community and connecting clients with the support they need
Community Access for People in Continuing Care (CAPCC) includes:
- arrangement of companions for people who are under the age of 65 and for health reasons live in long-term care
- opportunity to connect with something valuable in the community
- community outings, spending time together, playing games, having coffee, and connecting on an individual level
Cross Disability Support Services includes:
- assistance for Albertans with disabilities who require specialized services they are unable to access or do not qualify for through other means; funded through the Alberta government's Human Services
- a safety net providing triage to understand how individuals need to be served; through this, REDI shares with the community what services and supports look like and provides a warm transfer so that no one is left navigating the system alone
FASD Adult Mentorship Program includes:
- support for individuals aged 16 and older that have suspected or confirmed Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
- outreach support such as applying for financial supports, securing housing, budgeting, mental health and addictions supports, support with medical and professional appointments, and daily living activities such as grocery shopping
- support and assistance with community inclusion, physical activities, and creative interests
