As of December 1, 2025, the PRC, a new independent provincial agency, is responsible for overseeing ASIRT and investigating serious incidents, criminal allegations, and public complaints involving police in Alberta. Complaints that fall outside the PRC’s purview will be referred to the appropriate body.
