Vestibular rehabilitation is an exercise-based approach designed to facilitate the brain's compensation for damage to the inner ear balance system. It provides specialized physical therapy assessment and intervention for clients who have confirmed vestibular disorders supported by objective findings on testing. At the Glenrose, vestibular rehabilitation is provided by physical therapists using specialized technologies in the treatment of unilateral or bilateral vestibular hypofunction and Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo.
Adolescent to geriatric patients with a confirmed diagnosis of peripheral and/or central vestibular disorder. Patients must be able to cooperate with test procedures and be willing to follow-through with any prescribed rehabilitation.
