Helping improve survivability from sudden cardiac arrest by informing people about the benefits of early cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using automated external defibrillators (AED). A free provincial AED registry and database.
The PAD Program promotes Heart Safe Communities in Alberta by; encouraging Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in public areas; recognizing sudden cardiac arrest, the importance of early Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the use of AEDs.
The website provides a place for people and organizations to learn about AEDs and register them in the provincial database.
Services include:
- a free provincial database to register AEDs (includes location and who maintains)
- email notifications for battery or pad expiry dates
- monthly AED Inspection reminders
- provides information and support on the topics of Cardiac Arrest, CPR, AED's and more
- lets 911 EMS dispatchers know where AEDs are located
