The Pediatric Transport Team at the Stollery Children's Hospital, is responsible for transferring critically ill pediatric patients from Northern & Central Alberta, the Northwest Territories, neighbouring provinces, and occasionally from other locations within Canada and the United States.
Our team is comprised of a registered nurse (RN) and a registered respiratory therapist (RRT), both with an advanced scope of training in pediatric and transport critical care. Pediatric ICU physician's from the Stollery, are available to assist the transport team as needed.
This team provides 24 / 7 emergency medical services through ground and air transportation. Facilitating hospital-to-hospital transfers for critically ill children aged 1 month to 17 years, the team partners with AHS EMS, air ambulance, and STARS to respond across the province. Led by a registered nurse (RN) and a respiratory therapist (RRT), the team specializes in pediatric assessment, advanced care, and transport, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and life-saving skills.
