Harm Reduction and Client Support
Provides safer injection, inhalation, and sex supplies, as well as support to people and their families living with or at risk of human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS), hepatitis C, or sexually transmitted infections (STI).
Service offers:
- support to people and their families living with or at risk of human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS), hepatitis C, or sexually transmitted infections (STI)
Includes:
- 1-on-1, non-judgmental support
- safer injection supplies such as needles and cookers
- safer inhalation supplies such as tubing and pipes
- safer sex supplies such as condoms, lube, and dental dams
- needle exchange
- a take-home Naloxone kit
- referrals to other services such as sexual health services, HIV or STI testing, physicians, dentists, therapeutic counselling, drug treatment, detox, mental health services, housing services, emergency needs, food banks, and welfare/low income supports
- pre- and post-HIV test counselling
- financial assistance for travel to HIV or hepatitis C clinic appointments
- treatment information support
- access to computer services for Internet usage and word processing, phone, and fax services
- a nurse to assist clients with wound care, referrals, and more
