Service offers:
- safe, secure, emergency accommodation and basic emergency services for women and their children fleeing domestic violence
Includes:
- maximum stay of 28 days (unless extenuating circumstances) with a licensed occupancy of 40 beds
- food, clothing, personal items
- non-prescription drugs
- transportation
- crisis intervention
- referrals
- individual support and counselling
- group support for children
- recreational activities and outings
- childcare while mothers are attending appointments
Also provides further supports for shelter residents including:
- Children's Healing Centre - a safe environment for children to share their distress and pain, learn healthy and appropriate behaviour, develop positive self-esteem, and gather awareness about family violence
- Family Enrichment Program - service for up to 6 months after a client's stay at the shelter includes parenting education, safety planning, counselling, educational resources, community resources, advocacy, and referrals
