Provides support and social opportunities for older adults through activities and programs to enhance their individual well-being.
Service provides:
regular programming to promote health and wellness and prevent social isolation
support and activities for the aging populations in African descent communities
Includes:
social gatherings
support to overcome language barriers or lack of family support
opportunities for seniors to connect with others and build supportive social relationships
participation in cultural and recreational activities, including collective cooking, exercise, arts and crafts, and games
referral to resources available in the community, includng information on housing, community resources, food delivery, and financial support
1-on-1 support
cross-cultural understanding and harmony
computer literacy classes
English conversation circles
sharing of intergenerational knowledge with youth
skill building
workshops that address seniors' issues
