YouthLink Calgary - The Calgary Police Interpretive Centre

Provides a museum strongly dedicated to youth crime prevention initiatives. Programs help youth build strong internal compasses that rely on values, real information and the skills proven to execute safe decisions successfully.
Service offers:
facilitated presentations and self-guided tours of the Police Museum available for groups.
School Programs that combine science education, crime prevention and policing fun
Safe for Life presentations that focus on issues such as substance abuse, mental health, gangs, online safety, domestic abuse and family violence
introduces smart decision-making skills and effective communication skills
hands-on policing experiences help break down barriers and build trust between youth and the Calgary Police service
Forensic Science school program supports the grade 6 Evidence and Investigation Unit.
Training workshops for parents and teachers help adults support youth in making safe and informed choices (including cannabis education)

Calgarians on the cusp of facing crime-related pressures and challenges
grade 6 students and groups of youth aged 7-18
HOW TO ACCESS THIS SERVICE
Application Required
To access service:
applications required for all school and group programs
individual/family visits to the Police Museum is free on public days and does not require pre-booking or ticket purchase
all group visits to the Police Museum requires pre-booking

school programs are free (application open and closing dates)
youthLink's Community of Prevention Program (YCOP Program) is free - application for groups of youth to participate is available to Calgary social agencies and Calgary Police Officers
evening youth programs (Scouts and Brownies) is a charged service
adult education programs - mostly free, some charged workshops and presentations
other Police Museum experiences (kids camp, birthday parties, programs, events) is a charged service
special events hosted by police or local social agencies – inquire for fees
