Service targeted to:
- residents of Canada, including citizens, permanent residents, protected persons, individuals registered under the Indian Act and temporary residents
- primary caregivers of children under 18, which can include biological, adoptive, foster, and guardian parents
- families who have filed their tax return
Receiving Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH), Income Support, or child care subsidies does not affect eligibility for the Canada Child Benefit (CCB). However, a child cannot receive the CCB if they are already receiving the Children's Special Allowance (CSA). To be eligible, temporary residents must have lived in Canada for 18 months and still hold a valid permit in the 19th month.
