The clinic has a team of healthcare specialists who provide rehab services to patients with Rett syndrome (a rare genetic disorder) and their families.
People with Rett syndrome have many complex health needs and gradually lose skills over time. Patients and their families attend the clinic once a year if needed, with various specialists scheduled based on their needs. Families must travel and stay with their child for a full day of appointments at Glenrose.
Note:
- people with newly diagnosed MECP2 (methyl CpG binding protein 2) genetic differences will be looked at individually
- adults with confirmed Rett syndrome are also evaluated individually
