- funding for local social programs and services in Red Deer and Central Alberta communities, and builds community capacity through special initiatives and community partners
Includes:
- funding and support for over 40 programs in Central Alberta
- working with community partners to find long-term solutions to social issues
- leadership and support for the non-profit sector by assisting agencies to operate more efficiently and make the best use of their resources
- an opportunity for people to get involved in the community and make a difference through volunteering
Priority funded areas include:
- education - to support the full potential of development from the early years to adulthood and to help children and youth achieve their potential
- income - to help low-income community members and those experiencing homelessness to gain financial stability and independence
- wellness - to promote the overall well-being of community members, and to build positive environments and social capacity for caring and safe communities
