
Community Programs and Services
Develops and supports locally-driven preventative social initiatives to enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
Service offers:
- Kneehill Child and Youth Working Group
- grants and funding for community-based programs and services
- bimonthly community interagency meetings
- family violence and bullying prevention awareness
- National Volunteer Week activities
- partnerships with other agencies to co-ordinate annual events
Annual events include:
- Community Discovery Nights - offers residents an opportunity to learn more about resources and supports in their community, as well as register for local recreational programs
- Early Years Fair - offers an educational 1 day event for parents and children
- Kneehill Volunteer Forum - provides opportunities to learn about volunteerism, connect with other organizations that utilize volunteers, and discuss recruitment and retention issues
- Fear-Less education - program provides parents/cargivers with strategies to help them support their child(ren) to manage their anxiety
- Fountain of Health - Course to share the 5 research based actions to maximize health and happiness and reduce likelihood of dementia
