Offers a variety of primary health care services to students and staff.
Service provides:
- primary health care services to students and staff
- a team of healthcare professionals including occupational health nurses, registered nurses, and support staff that strive to provide accessible services
- assessment and care in the event of illness or injury from registered nurses
- research into and referral to community resources, such as drop-in medical clinics, public health centres, hospitals, family doctors accepting new patients, and a variety of other community services
Includes:
- injury and burn first aid treatment (wound care and dressing changes)
- incident, COVID-19, and student Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) reporting
- limited over-the-counter medications
- mental health first aid- initial assessment will be provided and referral to appropriate resources for further care
- health promotion, protection, and education
- immunization review
- student orientations
- audiometric testing, pulmonary function testing, and vision screening
- ergonomic assessments
