Provides community space for activities, events, advocacy, employment programs, and counselling for individuals experiencing homelessness, low income individuals, and families in the area.
Service offers:
- drop-in community centres where people experiencing homelessness and poverty can access emergency assistance, basic needs support, and referrals, while fostering a greater sense of community and well-being
Included at all locations:
- advocacy and referrals to appropriate services, assisting with system navigation and removing barriers
- basic needs referrals (clothing, furniture, ID, housing, food, baby hampers)
- access to telephones
- spiritual care for all faiths (voluntary participation)
- bingo and other games (at scheduled times)
- warm beverages
Downtown Community Impact Centre:
- employment coaching
- Food Bank item pickup for registered clients (by appointment)
- legal guidance (appointment required)
- haircuts by stylists and barbers (on scheduled dates)
- free clothing (on scheduled dates)
- computer and internet access
- art classes (drawing and painting)
- creative writing classes
Marlborough Community Impact Centre:
