Provides clinical care to children with spasticity and dystonia.
The Pediatric Tone Management Service provides care for children with spasticity or dystonia who exhibit changes in muscle tone (i.e. related to cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, neurodevelopmental or neurodegenerative disorders). The team also works with children and their families to learn how spasticity (changes in muscle tone) affects their comfort, care, daily activities, and participation.
Treatment options include:
- botulinum toxin type A injections
- intrathecal baclofen therapy
- selective dorsal rhizotomy
- corrective casting, and/or
- bracing
