Provides an integrated justice and treatment alternative to incarceration, for individuals facing significant time in jail or prison as a result of charges associated with a substance-use-disorder.
Service Offers:
A voluntary program where individuals facing a significant period of incarceration for charges associated with a substance use disorder can apply to the program with the support of Defence Counsel. It is a minimum 12-month program that provides intensive services and supports that assist participants through access to:
- medically-assisted detoxification
- residential addiction treatment or day programs
- intensive case management with referrals to over 85 community agencies
- treatment and counselling to address a wide range of issues
- supports to obtain income support, employment
- life skills programming to address needs such as anger management, problem-solving, relapse prevention, self-esteem and healthy relationships
- specialized programs for men, women, and First Nations participants
