Community Adult Learning Program
Provides funding support to non-profit agencies that offer part-time, non-credit learning opportunities to learners with barriers, and assists with connecting learners to these agencies.
Service offers:
- funding for programs and learners that meet policies as outlined by Alberta Advanced Education
- development, co-ordination, and delivery of community adult learning opportunities as defined by Alberta Learning
Goals include:
- improving the accessibility of learning opportunities in local area communities, especially for those individuals with special needs or barriers to learning
- providing opportunities to acquire important foundational skills such as literacy and ability in Canada's official languages
- addressing education, training, and learning gaps
- mobilizing community volunteers and other resources in support of learning
- contributing to solving individual and community problems through learning initiatives, in co-ordination with related organizations
