Service offers:

• educational programming at a school for students who are deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing in an inclusive learning environment with a focus on communication, language, and literacy
• programming that is aligned with mandated Alberta Education curriculum requirements to best meet individual language and learning needs
• work experience opportunities
• student leadership opportunities

Program options include:

• Bilingual / Bicultural Program - acquiring and developing language and literacy skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and English in a culturally and academically enriched environment
• Total Communication Program - opportunity to develop language and literacy skills in both spoken English and ASL; students challenge the mandated Alberta Education curriculum and explore strategies to best meet individual language and learning needs through the use of residual hearing and / or amplification
• Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Special Education Program - provides maximum programming opportunities for students with additional or complex learning, medical, or behavioural needs with a focus on language, literacy, and living skills
• Blended Program - blended programming where students can complete their education at Alberta School for the Deaf and other school locations
• Outreach Program - provides students with transitioning opportunities whether it be into, out of, or through part-time programming in order to accommodate individual student or family need and may include scheduled school visits, the use of video conferencing, and / or distance education
